白谷雲水峡～太鼓岩（所要時間 3 時間～半日）
Shiratani Unsuikyo- Taikoiwa (3 hours to half a day)
映画「もののけ姫」の舞台になったことで知られる「苔むす森」や「太鼓岩」に行くトレ
ッキングコースです。「苔むす森」までは駐車場から 1 時間～1 時間半の気軽なトレッキン
グで行くことができます。
「苔むす森」から「太鼓岩」までは、少しきつくなります。でも頑張ればこのような絶景を味わうことができます。 （是非お弁当やおやつをお持ちください！）
This is a trekking course that will take you to “Moss Forest” and “Taikoiwa”, known as the setting for the movie “Princess Mononoke”.
The trail is an easy one to one and a half hour hike from the parking lot to Kokemusu-mori Forest. It takes only one to one and a half hours from the parking lot to reach “Kokemusu-mori” by easy trekking.
The trekking time from the parking lot to Kokemusu-mori is 1 to 1.5 hours.
The trek from Kokemusu-mori to Taiko Iwa is a bit strenuous. (Please bring a packed lunch and snacks. (Please bring a packed lunch and snacks!)
※宮之浦方面や山のお天気は変わりやすいので、雨具をお持ちください。

※注意 宮之浦～白谷雲水峡線は 12 月 1 日～2 月末日まで運休。

It takes about 30 minutes from Miyanoura to the entrance of the Shiratani-unsui Gorge.
By car: Enter “Shiratani-unsui Gorge” into your navigation system.
By bus: Take the Miyanoura – Shiratani-unsui Gorge bus and get off at the last stop, Shiratani-unsui Gorge.
Note: The Miyanoura – Shiratani-unsui Gorge line is closed from December 1 to the end of February.
Check the timetable as there are only a few buses on the route.

縄文杉（所要時間 10～12 時間）
Jomonsugi Cedars (duration 10-12 hours)
人が多い時期であれば、ガイドなしでも可能です。でも往復 22 キロのトレッキングコースで片道４～6 時間（休憩や歩く速度により変わります）かかるので、早朝スタートが必須です。（帰り道、陽が落ちると何も見えなくなるので危険です。）
In high season it is possible to do this without a guide. But an early start is essential, as the 22km round trip takes 4-6 hours each way (depending on stops and walking speed). (It can be dangerous on the way back as you can’t see anything once the sun goes down).
※充分に水をお持ちください（沢の水が汲める場所があります）

西部林道(所要時間 1 時間)
Seibu-rindou,Western Forest Road (duration 1 hr)
車に乗って世界遺産の美しい原生林の中を通ることができます。雨でない限り、高確率で屋久ジカや屋久ザルに出会えます。 （危険なので餌を上げないでください）
The drive takes you through a beautiful World Heritage Site and through virgin forest. If it is not raining you have a good chance of seeing Yak deer and Yak macaques. (Do not feed them as it is dangerous).
この赤色の部分が西部林道です。
SIESTA からは栗生方面（空港と反対側）に約 30 分で西部林道入り口。
途中 88m の高さから落ちる「大川の滝」に寄ることをおすすめします。
またお時間が許せば、「 シャクナゲ公園」も眺めがよく気持ちのいい場所です。
This red area is Seiburindou,the Western Forest Road.
From SIESTA, drive towards Kuriu (opposite the airport) for about 30 minutes to reach the entrance to the Seibu Forest Road.
On the way, it is recommended to stop at the 88m high ‘Okawa Waterfall’.
If time permits, the Rhododendron Park is also a pleasant place with a good view.

なかなか良い眺めのハイキングコースです。（約15～20分）西部林道へ行く途中にシャクナゲ公園へ右折するための標識が出ています。
This is quite a nice walk with good views. (Approx. 15-20 mins) On the way to Seibu-Rindou there is a sign to turn right into Shakunage Park.
屋久島灯台
Yakushima Lighthouse
西部林道の終盤、永田に抜ける手前に 灯台へのアクセスがあります。「灯台」と書いてある看板を見逃さないようにして、左の方へ入ります。
なかなか眺めの良い美しい灯台です。
At the end of Seibu-rindou, just before it enters Nagata, there is access to the lighthouse. Don’t miss the sign that says ‘Lighthouse’, turn left.
It is a beautiful lighthouse with quite a view.
いなか浜
Inaka-Hama Beach
西部林道を抜けると、島の反対側「永田」に出ます。ウミガメの産卵地「いなか浜」はターコイズブルーの海が美しいビーチです。
After Seibu-rindou, you will reach ‘Nagata’ on the other side of the island. Inaka Hama Beach, where sea turtles lay their eggs, is a beautiful beach with turquoise waters.

また永田近くの「横河渓谷」は夏には最高の水遊び場になります。

Not only is this the best hot spring on the island, with spring water flowing from the source, but it also has excellent spring water quality compared to other hot springs in the country. The temperature is high, but it warms you well and relieves fatigue. Closed on Monday mornings for cleaning. In the morning it is fantastic and very pleasant if you go at 7am as soon as it opens.
